Headteacher’s Welcome

A warm welcome to Cromwell Academy.  I am delighted that you are considering our academy for your child.  We are also able to offer before and after school care at our Kids Club and a school education for children 4 – 11 years old.

Cromwell Academy provides 21st Century educational provision for all our children, with many ground breaking technologies incorporated into the building from state of the art computer facilities, to rainwater recycling and the use of solar energy.

Our building is designed to cater for single form entry for children from 4 – 11 years.  We have seven classes within the main building and a modern mobile classroom, a sensory room, a dedicated intervention room, as well as a well-equipped assembly hall with kitchen.  Each pair of classrooms within the main building has a cloakroom area with toilets.  Outside there is a large playground, playing field with trim trail, outdoor classroom, our Wildlife Haven and a willow dome.  There is also a secure outdoor play area for our Reception and Year 1 children.

The building also houses a community room with indoor and outside space for learning and play.  This is where our Cromwell Academy Kids Club for children from 4 – 11 years.

The building however is only one part of the story.  Our academy can only be successful because of the people who work in it and alongside us – the staff, the governors, the parents/carers and most importantly, the children.

We aim to enhance and educate the ‘whole’ child throughout their journey with us.  This means developing a caring, happy and friendly environment, where each child can work towards maximising their potential in personal, social and academic achievement.  We create an atmosphere where all our children are valued and value each other.

We are an academy where each child is encouraged to achieve high standards and is committed to achieving the very best they can.  We set, expect and achieve a high level of academic performance and support all children to achieve this.

We also seek to develop our children’s achievements in other school activities such as music, sports and drama productions, catering for both the individual and the team.  These help to enrich the lives of our children.  Such activities demonstrate our desire to develop a breadth of achievement in all our children, whatever their talents.

We also strive to be an academy that works within and for our local community.  Our community room is already a thoroughly utilised facility and we offer a range of community events and family liaison with all our parents/carers.

Our academy offers a great adventure for all, and an exciting opportunity to follow an educational and social journey that will help develop the potential of each and every one of our children.

Fundamental to the learning of any child is the relationship between home and the academy with the child always at the centre.  I hope that our working together will lead to genuine success and achievement for your child.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to Cromwell Academy.
